The
Totara Bank development is located in the southeastern part of North Island,
New Zealand, approximately a hundred kilometres from the capital city,
Wellington. The Wairarapa district is a rural district with a reputation
for producing high quality wines and, more recently, a growing olive industry.
The
nearest town is Masterton, the largest town in the Wairarapa, with a population
of nearly 20,000 people in the greater district. It is approximately 9km from
Totara Bank to central Masterton (map, 452kB).
Totara
Bank is located in an area called Te Whiti, part of the Gladstone community.
The property borders the Ruamahanga river, the largest river in the Wairarapa,
which flows 60km to the sea at Palliser Bay to the south.
There are
international airports at both Palmerston North and Wellington, and a rail service from Masterton to Wellington.
